C-Tran needs travel ambassadors to help customers on station platforms, buses and at transit centers. Volunteers answer questions about the bus system or assist riders with disabilities learn how to board, pay fare, use wheel chair bays and get acquainted with using public transportation.

Catholic Community Services Volunteer Chore program seeks drivers to drive low-income elderly or disabled people to medical appointments or for essential errands. Flexible schedules are available.

City of Vancouver Police Department is recruiting for the Neighbors on Watch program. Specially trained volunteers patrol by foot, bike, or vehicle, reporting suspicious or criminal activity. Fall training will begin soon.

Free Clinic of SW Washington needs Spanish translators Monday through Friday mornings and during evening shifts. Help patients during intake and registration, and translate in the exam room.

Friends of the Carpenter seeks help in its Friendship Center with reception duties, answering phones and greeting participants and volunteers.

Vancouver Parks and Recreation seeks hosts and hostesses at the Luepke Center. Volunteers greet customers, assist program specialists with projects, and provide community resource information.

Veterans Assistance Center is seeking customer service volunteers to greet veterans as they come into the center, directing them for needed help. Some record keeping involved.

NatureScaping of Southwest Washington seeks gardening volunteers at work parties, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays at the Wildlife Botanical Gardens in Brush Prairie. Other workdays may be arranged. No gardening experience is necessary.

Washington State University Clark County Extension seeks volunteers Aug. 4 through 13 at the Clark County Fair’s Germ City exhibit, an interactive tent lit with black lights. Germ City shows visitors how to stay healthy through hand washing. Volunteers receive fair entry and parking passes for the day, for every four-hour shift worked.
