Camas — Union High School was named to the Alliance for a Healthier Generations list of Healthiest Schools by achieving the Bronze Award for making changes that promote healthier eating and physical activity for students and staff. The school increased physical opportunities for students by opening the gym for activities during lunch and allowing students and staff to use stability balls as chairs. Union also serves healthy snacks and drinks at school. According to a news release from Evergreen Public Schools, studies show that healthy students perform better on tests, get better grades and attend school more often.
