Clark College promoted Chris Jacob to be its next athletic director Wednesday, removing the interim tag he held during the 2016-17 school year.
Jacob joined Clark in January 2015 as assistant athletic director, then served as interim AD following Ann Walker’s resignation last September.
Under Jacob’s leadership, two Clark teams – women’s soccer and men’s basketball – won Northwest Athletic Conference South Region titles. In May, Clark’s softball team made its inaugural postseason appearance by qualifying for the NWAC Tournament.
Additionally, Clark is ranked nationally in two categories honoring the success of junior college athletics. Last month, the National Alliance of Two-Year College administrators ranked Clark in the top 15 athletic programs based on success at championship competitions, and the school placed among the top 30 nationally for the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup for two-year colleges.
Clark’s fall athletic programs kick off Aug. 11.
