Additional Vancouver, Battle Ground and Washougal police officers, and the Washington State Patrol, will be on the road Saturday to combat impaired driving, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

The extra patrols, aimed at keeping drunken or otherwise impaired drivers off the road, are paid for through a state grant.

The department asked those planning on indulging this weekend to make sure they have a safe ride home planned.

The department asked anyone who sees someone they suspect may be driving impaired to call 911.
