A Vancouver woman and a 7-year-old passenger were hospitalized after a rollover crash on Interstate 5 near La Center Thursday afternoon.

Dolores J. Pickler, 34, of Vancouver, was heading south around 1 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.

Her SUV began to drift to the left shoulder, then she over corrected. That sent the vehicle across three lanes going right, the state patrol said, then into the dirt embankment.

The SUV rolled multiple times before coming to a stop.

Pickler and a passenger, a 7-year-old girl, were both hurt, the state patrol said. Pickler was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, and the girl to PeaceHealth Southwest then Legacy Emanual Medical Center.

The state patrol said they were wearing seat belts.

Pickler and the girl’s conditions were not available Thursday evening.

The state patrol said driving with wheels off the roadway caused the crash.

Pickler was cited for driving with wheels off the roadway, driving without insurance and having marijuana in the vehicle improperly.

Troopers did not expect drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
