BATTLE GROUND — Battle Ground Municipal Court will have a temporary Interest Amnesty Program that helps people owing court fines and related interest to AllianceOne collection services.

The two-month program goes through Sept. 1 and “will waive interest accumulated on AllianceOne accounts when the court fine is paid in full or made current through a down payment and monthly payment plan,” the city of Battle Ground said in a news release. “AllianceOne services debt collection on Battle Ground Municipal Court accounts that became past due during the years 2007 to 2010.”

This is a one-time opportunity for people behind on court payments to have accumulated interest waived. Participants can also seek to reinstate driving privileges, if applicable.

Those interested in participating can contact Battle Ground Municipal Court at 360-342-5150 or court.info@cityofbg.org or visit the courthouse at 109 S.W. First St. More information is online at www.cityofbg.org/interest-amnesty.
