Local firefighters kept busy overnight, responding to more than 60 fire calls between 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and 4:30 a.m. today.

Most of the fire calls were reported as vegetation fires, according to emergency dispatch logs, but working house fires were reported in both Ridgefield and Felida.

Earlier in the day, hay that spontaneously caught fire in a barn in Amboy destroyed the building and damaged about $25,000 in farming equipment. And a Tuesday afternoon fire damaged two mobile homes at Green Mountain Mobile Ranch east of Orchards and left two women displaced. No one was hurt.
