Washington – Washington is the ninth most educated state in the country, according to a new report from WalletHub.
Besides Colorado (No. 3) and Minnesota (No. 8) all of the higher-ranking states are on the East Coast.
The report looks at educational attainment, enrollment, graduation rates, as well as the quality of the public school system and universities, and any racial or gender gaps in educational attainment. Washington has the third highest percentage of associate’s degree holders or college-experienced adults.
Oregon is the 12th most educated state and has the third lowest racial gap in educational attainment.
Last year, WalletHub found that the Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro, Ore. area was the 28th most educated among the 150 largest metropolitan statistical areas. The Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue area ranked 10th.
