Murdock Charitable Trust awards $450K toward forest, $171K for water research

Clark County — The Vancouver-based M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust announced $9.7 million in grants to more than 50 organizations.

Among them is a $450,000 grant to the Vancouver-based Columbia Land Trust.

The money would go toward purchase and management of a community forest in Klickitat County.

The Washington State University Foundation is receiving $171,500 to purchase new equipment to support water-related research at WSU Vancouver.

Murdock grants to Washington state programs and causes totaled $2,762,500.
