Vancouver — If you like going out to eat but also like supporting local nonprofits, on Thursday you can do a little bit of both. Half of what guests spend at Beaches Restaurant on food and beverages (including happy hour) will be donated to Friends of the Carpenter. Guests have to let their server know they’re there to support Friends of the Carpenter.

The offer is good Thursday at the waterfront location at 1919 S.E. Columbia River Drive and the Beaches inside Portland International Airport.

Friends of the Carpenter’s warehouse in west Vancouver is home to the Share Day Center for homeless people and has been open overnight several times this winter when temperatures dropped below freezing.
