SALEM — The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission will meet here Friday to make its decision on the Columbia River salmon management reforms.
The session will begin at 8 a.m. at the state Department of Fish and Wildlife headquarters, 4034 Fairview Industrial Drive S.E.
In December, the Oregon commission voted to extend the transition period of the reforms through 2017 as a protection against additional restrictions on gillnetting should the issue not be resolved on Friday.

The Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission adopted most of the reform package originally approved in 2013, except will allow gillnetting for two additional years in the fall between Woodland and Beacon Rock.
