The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington awarded 36 grants to local nonprofits and school districts totaling $562,589 in the second half of 2016. In total, $865,462 in grants were disbursed during the year.
The foundation recently opened its first grant cycle of 2017 and is accepting applications through Jan. 31. The application for nonprofits is online at www.cfsww.org/nonprofits/grant-programs. Grants will be awarded in May with most funds aimed toward interrupting the cycle of intergenerational poverty — a strategic focus the foundation chose to begin addressing in 2013.
