Ridgefield — The Ridgefield School District announced five honorees for the December Employee and Students of the Month: fifth-grader Karizma Mystique, from South Ridge Elementary School, third-grader Nadia Hernandez-Mack, of Union Ridge Elementary School, eighth-grader Kohana Fukuchi, from View Ridge Middle School, Ridgefield High School junior Amber Carl and Mary Ford, title and learning assistance program coordinator at Union Ridge Elementary School. Ford was honored for her efforts to create engaging lessons that let students use their imagination, as well as helping new staffers get acclimated in the district. Karizma was selected for her diligence in the classroom, as well as seeking out additional learning opportunities. Nadia was described as a good student who is kind to everyone in a release from the district. Kohana was honored for her support of fellow students and acting as a classroom leader. Carl recently performed as King Claudius in the high school’s two-state tour of “Hamlet” and still managed to maintain high grades.
