Nominees for Week 9 winter sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian winter sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week period ending Feb. 18.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

HIKARU ABE, SKYVIEW GIRLS WRESTLING: Abe scored the winning two points in the final eight seconds to claim the girls 105-pound state title.

JOSH BOTTELBERGHE, COLUMBIA RIVER BOYS SWIMMING: Bottelberghe was named the swimmer of the 2A state meet after setting meet records in winning the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.

DYLAN INGRAM, CAMAS BOYS WRESTLING: Ingram outscored his opponents 41-5 in winning the 4A state titles at 220 pounds.

MARK KIM, CAMAS BOYS SWIMMING: Kim added two more 4A state titles to his résumé in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle as he helped Camas win the team title.

JACQUELINE PURWINS, CAMAS GYMNASTICS: Purwins was fourth in the all-around, third on the bars and eighth on the vault at the 4A state meet.
