Vancouver – A group of activists gathered outside of U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler’s office earlier this week.
There were about 50 participants, according to the group called SW Washington Citizens for Sanity. Several people carried heart-shaped balloons with messages such as: We care about public schools, Affordable Care Act, science facts, refugees and immigrants, according to a news release.
An elderly woman who is a refugee, a public school teacher and two women who depended on Medicaid shared their stories.
