Montana St. beats Portland St. on last-second shot in OT

BOZEMAN, Mont. — Tyler Hall hit a jumper in the paint with five seconds left to lift Montana State to a 92-90 overtime victory over Portland State on Thursday night.

After Brandon Hollins tied the game for the Vikings with 27 seconds remaining, Hall let the clock run down before driving then pulling up for the winning shot. De’Sean Parsons missed a 3-point attempt on the other end as time ran out.

The Bobcats (13-14, 8-6 Big Sky) led by 11 with 3:48 to go in regulation when the Vikings rallied to tie on a 3-pointer by Bryce Canda and, following an offensive foul on Montana State’s inbounds, Parson’s free throw with 0.2 left. Parsons missed the second free throw.

Hall was 8 of 10 from the field, including 5 of 7 from the arc, to finish with 24 points. Harald Frey added 18, Devonte Klines 17, Quinton Everett 14 and Benson Osayande 10 with seven rebounds.

Parsons scored 28 points with nine rebounds to lead the Vikings (12-12, 5-8) with Canda adding 15 points, Calaen Robinson 14 and Zach Gengler 12.
