At least we are seeing a nice break in the weather — no snow, ice or rain. How can it get better? OK, sunshine and 80 degrees would be nice, huh? We will get there. I can offer sunshine and 50 degrees, how’s that for a start?
We stay dry through Tuesday but rain chances increase Wednesday, and it appears to be on the wet side several days after that. A bit of fog early today and then hopefully easterly winds will keep that at bay Monday and Tuesday.
Checking the weather statistics for the month we are running way above average in the rainfall department with 5.63 inches, 3.92 inches above average. Temperatures are running 3.8 degrees below normal at 39.2 degrees for an average mean temperature.
So it could stay dry the rest of the month and we would still place February in the wetter than normal category. I wish!
It was tough for many to catch the eclipse, a dashing comet and other celestial beauties with the lingering clouds.
California has reaped the gift of the weather gods this winter, maybe too much. Reservoirs that were at all-time lows have filled to the brim in many locations. Rivers are high and the water outlook for this summer is much improved. Snow pack in the Sierra mountains is deep.
When you look at climate statistics they include all the extremes of weather over a certain time period and are averaged out. Our weather this winter with excessive cold, snow and rain will onset an earlier winter. Maybe next winter we have a reversal and remain dry and mild.
Enjoy the start of the week in a tranquil weather atmosphere.
