The third-ranked team in the state jumped out to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter thanks to a swarming defense, sending Union (12-7) into a loser-out game against 4A GSHL rival Skyview on Friday at Hockinson.
“They were pretty impressive,” Union coach Mike Cranston said of Bellarmine (20-1). “They totally overwhelmed use defensively. Just superior in everything.”
Cranston said the pressure defense created many turnovers that led to Bellarmine points.
