CAMAS — Camas High School graduate Tracey Malone is the newest member of the Camas school board after she was appointed to the District 5 position at Thursday’s meeting.

Malone has two children in the district and is vice president and partner at Halbert Construction Services. She graduated from Clark College and serves on the Cascadia Technical Academy Foundation board and Southwest Washington Contractors Association board.

The current board voted unanimously in favor of appointing Malone to the position vacated by Mary Tipton, who resigned in December due to moving out of the district. Malone will keep the appointed position until the general election in November, and if she is elected then, she’ll complete Tipton’s term on the board, which runs through December 2019.
