Wind gusts have reached speeds of 38 mph this morning, downing power lines and causing power outages.

A brief but large outage affected more than 1,800 customers in the Cascade Park area this morning at about 6:45 a.m. but was restored about a half hour later, according to Clark Public Utilities Spokeswoman Erica Erland.

High winds and downed trees caused a handful of small outages in the Camas area this morning, some of which are still being repaired, Erland said.

Utilities crews also responded this morning to a power line that went down across Northeast Hathaway Road between 283rd Street and state Highway 500, according to emergency dispatchers.
