Boys basketball: Fort Vancouver 79, Mountain View 71

Johnny Green scored 26 points as the Trappers survived a high-scoring second half to cap 3A GSHL play with a win.

The Trappers will open play in the 3A bi-district tournament Wednesday against the No. 3 team from the Pierce County League (Wilson or Spanaway Lake) at Timberline High School in Lacey.

Both teams combined for 87 points in the second half. Mountain View cut the margin to six when the Trappers pulled down a rebound on a free throw to help secure the win.

Jameel Morton added 17 for Fort, while Alex Bailey led the way with 20 for Mountain View.
