Five Corners — Orchards Elementary School second- and third-graders participated in an Hour of Code recently. The students were presented with various coding challenges, which they worked to solve both independently and with partners. Multiple teachers at the school have started integrating coding into their lesson plans as a way for students to increase critical thinking, creativity, determination and technology skills. Hour of Code is a global effort to bring coding into classrooms, and has done so for tens of millions of students in more than 180 countries, according to www.hourofcode.com.
