Girls basketball: Columbia River 55, Heritage 40

Jordan Ryan’s season-high 25 points and 13 rebounds helped the Chieftains take the Hoops for the Holidays Tournament title. The Chieftains went 3-0 at the annual tournament at Evergreen High School.

River is now 7-3 overall and winners of five straight. It resumes 2A GSHL play Wednesday.

“We’re hitting our stride,” first-year coach Will Jones said. “The kids are really buying in. … “I’m very proud of where we are, but not satisfied.”

Katie Peneueta led Heritage with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
