The Plainsmen wore down a hot-shooting 3-point team at the Spanaway Lake Tournament.

Yelm made 15 3-pointers, but Evergreen (4-4) overcame that.

“They shot very well from 3. Even with a hand in their face they were still making it,” Evergreen coach Brett Henry said. “Our size and athleticism was (ultimately) too much for them.”

Evergreen led by three points after the first quarter and stretched it to a 14-point lead at the half. Yelm hung around in the third quarter before Evergreen wore down the Tornadoes in the fourth quarter.

X’Zayvier Washington led the Plainsmen in scoring with 16 points. Jeremy Harju had 13 and Brock Schoene 12.

Evergreen will face Spanaway Lake on Saturday for the tournament title.
