Sydney Weber’s potential game-winning 3-pointer was off the mark in the final seconds, and an offensive rebound and putback was no good for the Falcons, who dropped their opening-round game of the West Coast Jamboree in the Bay Area.
Prairie coach Hala Corral noted turnovers and nearly two weeks in-between games hurt the Falcons against what she called a “really good team.”
However, she said her team grew up a lot in her team’s opening game of the tournament, which continues with a 1 p.m. consolation game Friday against South San Francisco High School. And a tournament such as this one can only help Prairie as the season progresses.
“They have to go hard every day,” Corral said. “It taught the girls they have to go hard, so when we get to the playoffs, we beat quality teams. You can’t take a day off.”
