Camas — Camas High School’s Girls Represent chapter hosted a night of Ted Talks on Dec. 7, where five professionals spoke about their experience in traditionally male-dominated fields to about 120 middle and high school students and their families. The speakers were Allison Coffin, a neuroscience professor; Leah Hinkle, a former Team USA tackle football player; Dorothy Sosnowski, a renewable energy executive; state Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas; and Wendi O’Neill, a cybersecurity manager. The school’s Girls Represent chapter, organized through the school’s DECA team, seeks to inspire female participation in male-dominated fields through various community events.
