Jaydia Martin and Kamelai Powell combined for 33 points and Bay’s go-ahead put-back lifted it to a narrow win over Heritage.
The Eagles jumped up to a 28-6 lead after a quarter.
“We just came out really flat,” Heritage coach Karrin Wilson said. “I don’t think we came out quite ready.”
Heritage then slowly chipped away at the deficit, and led 44-42 with under a minute to go.
After Bay’s go-ahead bucket, Heritage’s Brianna Gould missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Katie Peneueta led Heritage with 25 points, 15 rebounds, six steals and three blocks.
