Forum features strategies for positive engagement

Vancouver – Washington State University Vancouver’s Foley Institute for Public Policy and Public Service’s Initiative for Public Deliberation will hold a two-day forum, “Revitalizing Dialogue: Strategies for Engaging in a Polarized Society,” from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 26 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 27, at WSU Vancouver. The keynote speaker will be Martin Carcasson, founder and director of the Center for Public Deliberation and Communication Studies at Colorado State University. Participants will learn about active listening, cultural competency, working through conflict, fostering conversation, planning forums and facilitation skills, among other topics.
