In what’s fast become a Christmas tradition for the Vancouver company, DiscoverOrg donated about $80,000 and 8,800 pounds of supplies to support students in need at Evergreen Public Schools.

DiscoverOrg presented the district with $79,369 and a slew of shoes, coats, shampoo, diapers and other supplies collected during a donation drive for the Family and Community Resource Centers. The centers, set up in high-poverty elementary schools, provide low-income families with food, clothes, school supplies and other resources.

The district also has smaller food and clothing pantries set up at secondary school campuses to support those students.

DiscoverOrg last year donated $40,000 and about 3,000 pounds of supplies. The year prior, the company collected supplies for the district.

On its Facebook page, the Vancouver company thanked “all of our generous employees, partners donors and supporters who helped make this possible.”

Melanie Green, Family and Community Resource Center coordinator for the district, said the donation will help ensure families have their basic needs met through the holidays.

“They can come to school and really focus on learning,” Green said.

This year, about 700 homeless families have children in the district, and still more access the district’s Family and Community Resource Centers.

“We can remove those nonacademic barriers so their basic needs are met,” Green said.
