Girls basketball: Union 52, La Center 42

Mason Oberg was 10 for 10 from the free throw line and finished with a game-high 24 points to lead the Titans to a non-league win.

It was a physical battle in which 54 free throws were attempt. Union was 20 of 26; La Center was 14 of 28.

“We’re making strides,” Union coach Mike Cranston said.

Alexis Raymore had 14 points for Union, and Oberg buried four 3-pointers. The Titans outscored La Center 31-20 in the second half.

Molly Edwards had 17 for La Center, and Taylor Stephenes added 15. Whitley Seter and Taylor Mills both fouled out.

Union finished a stretch where it played seven games in nine days.
