Knights teach students about medieval studies

Washougal — Fourth- and fifth-graders at Hathaway Elementary School got some up close experience with knights as part of their medieval studies unit. The students received a presentation from the Knights of Veritas, a nonprofit organization based in Ellensburg that specializes in interaction educational demonstrations. The knights’ sword fighting program featured authentic, documented historical sword combat techniques in and out of full armor, and they also showed students the historical process of how armor was put on. They also discussed the code of chivalry with the students.
