Tyler Combs finished with 20 points, Ethan Smith scored 17 and Union beat Prairie 71-67 in a back-and-forth nonleague game that was decided in the final seconds on Wednesday night at Prairie High School.

The Falcons trailed by four heading into the fourth and took the lead with five minutes to play.

Smith hit a contested 3-pointer to put the Titans ahead one with 1:08 to play.

“Our guys played with some urgency, it was good to see that,” Union coach Blake Conley said. “Good to see our guys making some plays.”

Kameron Obsorn, who had 30 points for Prairie, drew a foul down one with 26 seconds left, but missed both free throws. Union held on.

“Osborn is really tough to stop,” Conley said. “That’s a good team we just beat, so I’m pleased. Going through those games helps down the road.”
