It took awhile for Fort Vancouver’s boys basketball team to play its brand of basketball, but once it did, the Trappers had a flurry of a finish.
Jameel Morton’s game-high 30 points and James Husband, Jr.’s 26 helped the Trappers to a 70-67 come-from-behind victory over Parkrose (Ore.).
Fort trailed by double-digits for a good portion of the game before making its comeback inside 2 minutes to go in the third quarter.
Fort coach James Ensley called Husband, Jr., and Morton “unstoppable” especially in the second half. Husband, Jr., had 10 of his points in the third quarter — half of the Trappers’ points — and the two combined for 21 of the team’s 27 total field goals. Morton also was 10 of 15 from the free-throw line.
