Samaad Hector finished with 20 rebounds and seven blocks to go along with 17 points to lead Skyview past Fort Vancouver 67-49 on Friday.
Even without starting forward Cole Grossman, the Storm still held a sizeable size advantage over the Trappers, and it showed.
Skyview held a 33-19 rebound advantage and scored over half its points (38) in the paint.
“We did a pretty good job of utilizing our size advantage,” Skyview coach Matt Gruhler said. “We had the height advantage with Samaad inside and did our best to steer their drivers into him.”
Alex Schumacher had 22 points and five assists for the Storm, who are 3-0.
James Husbands Jr. led Fort with 18 points. Jameel Morton put up 15 and Johnny Green scored 11 before leaving the game on crutches with an ankle injury in the second quarter.
