Clark County — Led by the Pacific Northwest United Methodist Conference, volunteers from Salmon Creek United Methodist Church and Mill Plain United Methodist Church have been raising money and sending skilled teams to Okanogan County to help rebuild after fires in 2014 and 2015. The volunteers have been doing things like framing, hanging drywall, roofing, siding, painting and installing windows, doors and cabinets. They spend a week at a time supplying their own meals and bedding. The local volunteers recently visited the site in October working on the home of a man with disabilities who is currently living in an RV without plumbing facilities. By the end of the week, the volunteers installed floors and cabinets, put up doors and completed the trim work.
