Nominees for Week 1 winter prep sports athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian winter sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Dec. 2.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

PALMER DINEHART, WOODLAND BOYS BASKETBALL: Dinehart had 27 points and 16 rebounds in a season-opening win over La Center.

NINA EVANS, MOUNTAIN VIEW GYMNASTICS: Evans won on vault, bars, beam and the all-around with a score of 35.2 in a five-team meet at Northpointe.

SAMUEL MALYCHEWSKI, CAMAS WRESTLING: The senior, ranked third in the state, won the title at the End of the Trail Tournament in Oregon City at 195 pounds.

REAGAN LOREY, HUDSON’S BAY GIRLS BOWLING: Lorey averaged 193 over four games, including a high game of 222, in helping key Bay unbeaten on the season.

KATIE PENEUETA, HERITAGE GIRLS BASKETBALL: The freshman had a triple-double with 19 points, 14 rebounds and 17 blocks in her high school debut against Evergreen.
