Vancouver – Educational Service District 112 is seeking applications for ESD-U, the district’s certification program.

Current teachers can earn the “Retooling Endorsements,” as they’re called by the Professional Educator Standards Board, in special education, English language learners and reading.

ESD 112 was first approved to certify teachers in Washington state in August, making it the first and only entity in the state approved to offer teaching certifications outside a college or university. Additional programs for non-teachers who would like to become certified are launching later this month.

Informational sessions will be held at 4 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7 at ESD 112’s Conference and Institute Center at 2500 N.E. 65th Ave., Vancouver.

Applications for the program are due April 1, 2018. Applications can be found at web3.esd112.org/esd-u/about.
