No injuries were reported after a driver rear-ended a Vancouver Public Schools school bus, wedging his car under the bus, Thursday afternoon.
Police and fire personnel were called to St. Johns Road near Northeast 43rd Avenue around 4 p.m.
The fire department said the bus, which was carrying young children home from school, had some minor damage, and the car’s driver was out of his vehicle when emergency crews arrived.
After firefighters confirmed no one was hurt, they used a system of pneumatic lifting bags and wooden cribbing to lift the 20,000 pound bus off the car, allowing a tow truck to pull the car away.
