The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who was found dead under the Mill Plain Boulevard onramp for Interstate 205 last week.

The body of Daniel L. Smith, a 46-year-old transient, was found the night of Aug. 16 by an acquaintance in a makeshift homeless camp where the two lived together, Trooper Will Finn said.

The medical examiner’s office said that the cause of death is still pending.

The preliminary investigation indicates the man was not hit by a vehicle and there was no indication that any foul play took place; however, the investigation is ongoing, Finn said.
