A fire at a house in Vancouver’s Sunnyside neighborhood caused about $47,000 in damage, according to fire investigators.
Crews from the Vancouver Fire Department responded to the house, 9410 N.E. 108th Ave., at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday and arrived to find a room above a garage filled with smoke.
Firefighters cut a hole in the roof to let the smoke out and extinguished the fire.
The fire originated in the closet and was caused by some exposed wiring that sparked a rolled-up carpet, Clark County Deputy Fire Marshal Dan Young said.
