Fine summer weather continues around our area; I have no complaints. Those morning low clouds help keep us with highs close to normal, about 80 degrees. We have another weak weather system skirting by to the north today that will push more marine clouds in tonight and early tomorrow morning. The thickest clouds will be just north and west of Clark County but we will have some clouds Monday that hopefully fully clear out by eclipse time.
For those in coastal areas, clouds may hang around a longer. The best viewing will be in the Salem, Ore., area where cloudiness will be absent.
There are only 11 days left in the month before the weather and climate folks turn the page to the autumn season. Monday and Tuesday will feel like summer as highs get between 85 and 90 degrees. Then a cool down Wednesday and a slight chance of a shower overnight into Thursday. Then high pressure builds back for warm and dry weather.
If you are heading to view or participate in the Washington State International Kite Festival in Long Beach this week, I’ve got the forecast. Expect the entire week to have various amounts of coastal fog or low clouds moving around but also plenty of blue skies and also brisk winds. Most likely some drizzle to freshen the air late Wednesday and early Thursday. But no big storms.
