Fircrest — Business banking team members from Wells Fargo locations in Vancouver, Portland and Eugene, Ore., spent six hours on July 31 volunteering with the Salvation Army in Vancouver. The 10 volunteers — led by Todd Zalk, who serves as vice chair of the nonprofit’s board and Heidi Whillock — worked for three hours in the morning putting together 115 medium and large boxes of food to be handed out. Each box had canned food, flour, rice, breakfast cereal, snacks, juice and other items, depending on what was donated to the nonprofit. The volunteers then unloaded a truck filled with bread, bagels and pastries, which were handed out along with boxes, which can last recipients three to five days. The volunteers also handed out free bags of pet food, shampoo, soap and toothpaste.
