Battle Ground city officials have issued a Stage II Water Shortage Declaration after water consumption climbed during the recent hot weather. The city is calling on residents to conserve water to ensure reserves continue to meet personal and emergency response needs.

With the declaration, the city is instituting a voluntary odd/even residential, commercial, industrial and government irrigation program. Customers with a street address ending in an even number are asked to water only on even-numbered days; those with odd-numbered street addresses should water on odd-numbered days.

The city will also reduce the use of park and facility irrigation systems.

The declaration and irrigation program will remain in effect until further notice.
