Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council. For information on the following and other opportunities, call 360-735-3683.

• Bloodworks Northwest is looking for monitors to keep an eye on blood donors to make sure they feel well before leaving. Monitors also serve refreshments and schedule appointments. Volunteers are also needed with registration, transporting donations, calling volunteers and as ambassadors.

• Clark County Juvenile Court Restorative Community Service project needs mentors to assist youth on various projects in completing their obligation to make things right with the community, help them stay on task and to understand the value of the work being done.

• Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools and Evergreen Public Schools will be starting up the Lunch Buddy program soon. Volunteers are needed to meet with an assigned student once a week throughout the school year, spending time reading, playing board games, doing crafts or just talking.

• Gifts for the Community seeks customer service help at Divine Consign and b.divine Clothing Boutique.

• Smith Tower, a low-income senior housing community, seeks volunteers to help residents navigate their computers, set up email, and use Facebook. Musician volunteers are also sought to entertain residents, or to teach piano.

• Open House Ministries seeks volunteers to help at its thrift store and bike shop.
