Amboy — Amboy Territorial Days took place July 7 to 9, and along with lawn-mower races, pole climbing and axe throwing, a number of individuals were honored throughout the weekend. Jessica Goff was named queen of Territorial Days, and the rest of the court was filled out by Aubree McCoy, Annabelle Melton, Sierra Frasier, Sydney Page, who was named first runner-up, and Veronica Porter. Kenneth Meyer won first place in the photography contest judged by the Battle Ground Art Alliance for “Wood Duck Pair.” Nathaniel Poole and Kristi Osborn finished second and third, respectively, in that contest. “Grist Mill” by Arden Kinser won the People’s Choice award in the photo contest. In the visitor-voted photo categories, Osborn won for Portrait, Kinser won in Landscape/Seascape, Poole won for Work/Play, Grayson Goodwin finished first in Building/Construction and Samuel Poole won for Animal/Plant Life.
