A man accused in multiple robberies — some committed with an accomplice and others on his own — was sentenced Monday to 57 months in prison, the same sentence his accomplice received.
Jarid R. Hyde, 28, a transient, pleaded guilty in Clark County Superior Court to two counts of first-degree robbery and one count of third-degree assault. He, like his accomplice, 26-year-old Andrew J. Pablo, entered an “in re Barr” plea to the assault charge. The plea allows a defendant to plead guilty to a lesser related charge he didn’t commit in order to avoid conviction for a greater offense.
Hyde was accused of robbing an acquaintance and two convenience stores with Pablo between May 26 and May 30.
In the early-morning hours of May 26, Hyde and Pablo entered the Shell gas station at 16320 S.E. Cascade Park Drive, and Pablo began punching an employee in the head. The employee said he stopped struggling after he saw Hyde was armed with a handgun, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in the case.
