VANCOUVER – Tom Mears, the chairman of Burgerville, will discuss his book about the Vancouver-based restaurant chain Thursday at the Clark County Historical Museum.

His talk is at 7 p.m. at the museum, 1511 Main St.

Mears is the author of “Serve with Love.” He tells how Jacob Propstra sailed to America from The Netherlands in 1914 and started a humble creamery that would one day inspire the Pacific Northwest institution known as Burgerville.

In “Serve with Love,” Mears writes about the critical decisions Burgerville’s team took to build the business, and a number of the mistakes they made along the way. After one particularly disastrous beach retreat, Mears writes, he knew the company’s mission was in trouble.

Admission: $5 for adults; $4 for seniors; $3 for children under 18; free for museum members. Doors will open at 5 p.m.

For information, contact the museum at info@cchmuseum.org or phone 360-993-5679.
