Today is the last day of April. I’m glad this month is about over. Rainfall measures over four inches in Vancouver, another month that has logged in above average rain. I was hoping that May would get off to a good start and be dry for a while.
Well my prediction of a dry and warm week coming up has unfortunately changed a bit. After last night’s cold front that brought rain to all of Western Washington, a weak warm front will sneak up the coast early Monday and we keep a chance of light showers in the forecast. Then high pressure builds in and we have at least three days of warm and dry weather.
Computer forecast models show another cold trough of low pressure settling in Thursday and Friday. The changes show you that not only does the weather go in extremes, so do the forecast models. Ever see those sunny icons on the seven day forecast on TV keep moving out one more day?
Forecasting weather in these parts is an ever-changing ordeal. Still we will enjoy the light at the end of the tunnel and emerge into the radiant month of May. We should see a sudden burst of flowers especially as many are running late this year due to the cold weather.
