The infant and 4-year-old injured in a 5-car crash in Camas earlier this week are both doing much better, Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn said.

Both children were taken to area hospitals for treatment, but the infant was released the same day and the 4-year-old girl suffered a skull fracture and concussion but is expected to be released today, Finn said.

“It’s really great news,” Finn said.

No citations have been made in the Monday afternoon crash, Finn said, but troopers are continuing their investigation.

The crash occurred on the Camas Slough bridge around 3:20 p.m. when open driver lost control and spun out. Other motorists, all of whom were traveling east, reacted to the crash and collided with other vehicles, troopers reported

Mackenzie D. Badertscher, 21, of Camas and two children in her vehicle were the only people taken to hospitals following the crash. Baderscher’s condition was not available.
