Janus Youth Programs received a grant to address the issue of sex trafficking in Clark County.
The $206,101 grant from the Washington State Office of Crime Victims Advocacy will fund outreach specialists and a case manager to provide support and assistance to victims of sexual exploitation or sex trafficking. Janus Youth Programs has a residential program in Portland that provides stabilization for minor victims of sexual exploitation.
In Clark County, the outreach specialists will conduct street outreach in locations that target victims of sex trafficking, such as homeless camps, truck stops, malls, bus stops, schools, shelters and online sites. They’ll also speak to community groups, schools, health professionals and others about identifying sex-trafficked youth and how to get them into services.
Janus Youth Programs was one of only three recipients to receive a grant from the Crime Victims Advocacy.
